About
Macht Haus is a selective Rottweiler program based in Florida, breeding to the AKC standard and campaigning under ADRK and FCI judges in Europe. We produce few litters. Every dog here is health-tested to the CHIC standard, titled in the ring, or both — and every result, including the ones that did not certify, is published on this site.
Coming to the breed
I came to Rottweilers in 1996, through my uncle, Ben Fondren, who showed several breeds in conformation. The Rottweiler was the one I kept coming back to — intelligent, powerful, substantial, and still steady with a family. The breed suited me, and it has held my attention ever since.
The people behind it
Perry Payson handled our dogs for years in the early part of the program, and the benefit of good mentors has continued since — Keith Washington, Suzan Guynn, and Randy McAteer, who handles for us now. Rose Robinet has shown for us as well. What this program knows, it learned from people who had already done it.
How the dogs live
The dogs live across two settings: three acres to run, and a climate-controlled kennel building with proper bedding. Puppies are raised inside the house, alongside our children — not held in a whelping room they leave at eight weeks.
The standard
The Rottweiler is a breed with real orthopaedic and cardiac risk, and a pedigree alone does not manage it. Every dog in the program is evaluated for hips, elbows, cardiac, eyes and JLPP. Where a panel is incomplete, the gap is shown as a gap rather than omitted. Where a result came back short of certification — an elbow graded DJD I, a carrier status — it stays published. A program that only shows its clearances is telling you half of what it knows.
Two systems
We campaign in AKC conformation and under ADRK and FCI judges in Germany, France and Hungary. The two systems are not interchangeable and this site never converts one into the other: an AKC major is counted in points, an ADRK V1 is awarded within a class against the breed's country-of-origin standard. Both records are published separately and in full.
Volume
Litters are planned around the bitch, not around demand. A breeding happens when the pairing is right, the health work is current, and there is somewhere appropriate for every puppy to go. There is no waiting list you can buy your way up.
Placement and support
Every pairing is made for a reason — we breed to a need, and each dog is chosen to complement the other. A buyer gets lifetime support, whether the dog will be campaigned or will be someone's companion. Integrity comes first; conformation and health follow from it.
